postnatal treatments

Are you a mum struggling with postnatal hormonal health?

  • You’re exhausted most of the time, lack energy and just so extremely tired. The sleep deprivation has caught up with you and it’s not pretty

  • Maybe you’ve been battling heightened anxiety since giving birth, postnatal depression might have been a challenge or, put simply, you’re tearful, irritable and just need a break

  • You might be early postpartum still and dealing with night sweats, breast engorgement, perineal healing, joint pain as your relaxin levels get back to normal, fluid retention, dehydration and emotional vulnerability, as well as everything else life with a newborn brings

  • Possibly you’re struggling to cope with erratic periods, and your cycle is all over the place or maybe you’re weaning and the hormonal change is making things extra hard

  • You could be considering baby number two (or three or four!) but feel like you’ve got no idea if your body would actually let that happen

  • Oh and the lack of libido (and vaginal dryness of course) isn’t helping things!

  • You’re probably shedding more hair than your cat and the only solution is the mum bun (but you still have those sticky out bits at the side)

  • Your skin has lost that pregnancy glow and instead it’s as dry as the desert and you’ll sometimes get breakouts as if you were a teenager again

  • You feel like you want to eat everything, even that soggy potato your kid dropped two days ago on the floor that you haven’t managed to clean up, and let’s not even mention the amount of sugar you’ve consumed over the last few months…

  • Your child brings every bug under the sun home from nursery and you seem to be catching everything they sneeze at you

You don’t know what you need exactly, but you know you need something.

You’re not alone, and you’re in the right place.

I help mums at any stage of their postnatal journey balance their hormones (that’s right, most of the above is all to do with your hormones!) and feel more energised, nurtured and supported.

From the moment you welcome your little one into the world, your body undergoes profound hormonal shifts. The hormones that sustained you throughout pregnancy, like estrogen and progesterone, plummet rapidly within just 48 hours of giving birth.

This rapid drop in hormone levels is the biggest hormone change in the shortest timespan any human ever experiences!

It’s faster than puberty, menopause, or any other big change you can think of.

Alongside these changes, your thyroid hormones may fluctuate more than usual, while cortisol levels might increase. Other hormones, such as prolactin, relaxin, and oxytocin, undergo significant transformations as well. Basically, your hormones are all over the place after you have a baby… that is, until you come to see me!

How would it feel to:

• Have more energy to not only care for your children but also put your own well-being first for once?

• Release the emotional burdens you might be carrying from your birth and postnatal experiences, creating space to honour your journey.

• Relieve you of stress, equipping you with tools and techniques you can use at home to calm your nervous system and be a calmer parent.

• Understand the reasons behind your current feelings (you’re not crazy - it’s likely your hormones!) and learn how to foster positive change.

• Receive a personalised set of nutritional supplements, carefully tested and tailored to your specific needs, instead of willy nilly selecting ineffective options off the shelf in Boots.

• Feel supported, heard, held and validated (I’m also a postnatal doula so I’m very used to holding mums when they need it most)

• Gain a deeper understanding of your body and the reasons behind your current physical and emotional state. We will get to the root cause of your symptoms and connect all the dots.

Having the support of someone who understands your unique challenges, who has the knowledge on what your body and mind have gone through after having your baby, someone who has the tools and techniques that can make you feel like a less depleted, healthier mum, might just change your life.

  • A tailored 90-minute treatment where we use kinesiology - a natural healthcare system - techniques to find out what your body needs postnatally.

In your initial session we focus primarily on the hormonal, endocrine system to bring it back into a state of balance. We use muscle testing to find out which hormonal glands (adrenals, thyroid, parathyroid, ovaries, hypothalamus, pituitary and thymus gland) specifically are out of balance.

We test nutritional supplements to see what vitamins and minerals your body might need to balance your hormones. We use lymphatic massage to get your lymph flowing to release toxins post-birth. We also incorporate acupressure and energy movement to move any stagnant energy.

During the session, we talk about anything that might be worrying you or stressing you out postnatally and use stress release techniques such as tapping and holding neuro-vascular points. We also use Bach Flower Remedies to help with different emotions you may be feeling since having your baby.

On top of this, being trained in facial massage, we end with a calming facial massage using rosehip oil and finish with a gentle chakra balance.

Sessions take place at Therapy Spaces in Surbiton or at my home in Thames Ditton.

I can also see clients from my home in Thames Ditton if you would like to bring your baby - this way we can have a longer session so you can stop to feed, change and care for your baby if you don’t have any childcare available to you.

You will also receive a short list of tailored nutritional supplements that are recommended for you. These are an additional cost and can be bought directly from me (or you are welcome to buy yourself).

Connection call

I offer a 30-minute connection call so you can ask any questions you might have and we can get to know each other, and you can decide if I’m the right postnatal practitioner for you.
